Help & FAQ
We're here to help.
Quick answers to the most common questions about checking in, managing caregivers, and what happens if a check-in is missed. If you can't find what you need, tap the button at the bottom to head back to the app.
Checking in
How do I check in each day?
Open Safe and Well and tap the big green button that says "I'm Okay Today." You'll see a friendly confirmation and the time of your check-in. That's all there is to it.
What time should I check in?
Check in once each morning, whenever it's convenient for you. Your caregivers are notified the moment you tap. There's no set time — just try to check in before your usual routine gets busy.
Can I check in more than once a day?
Yes. Each tap records a new check-in with the current time, and your most recent one shows on your status card. Tapping again won't cause any problems.
What does my caregiver see when I check in?
They receive a notification letting them know you're okay, along with the time of your check-in. No personal health details are shared — just a simple "I'm okay today."
Caregivers
How do I add a caregiver?
Go to the Caregivers tab and tap "Add caregiver." Enter their name, phone number, and relationship (such as Daughter or Neighbor), then tap Save. They'll appear in your list right away.
How do I edit or remove a caregiver?
On the Caregivers tab, tap a caregiver's card to edit their name, phone, or relationship. To remove them, tap "Remove" on their card and confirm. Your contacts are saved automatically.
Can I call or message a caregiver from the app?
Yes. Each caregiver card has a call button and a message button. Tapping call opens your phone's dialer; tapping message opens a text with a note about your check-in status already filled in.
How many caregivers can I add?
Your plan includes one caregiver. If you'd like to add more, you can upgrade to Pro and add extra caregiver contacts for a small monthly fee each. The app will let you know when you reach your limit.
Can I move my caregiver list to a new phone?
Yes. On the Caregivers tab, use Export to save your contacts as a file, then use Import on your new phone to bring them back in. Duplicate phone numbers are skipped automatically.
If a check-in is missed
What happens if I miss a check-in?
If you don't check in by the end of the day, your caregivers are alerted so they can check on you. The app shows them that today's check-in is still waiting.
What should I do if I missed my check-in?
Just open the app and tap "I'm Okay Today" as soon as you can. Your caregivers will see the updated check-in right away and know you're fine.
What should a caregiver do if they get a missed-check-in alert?
Try reaching your loved one by phone or in person. The alert means they haven't checked in today, so a quick call or visit is the best next step. The app's message button makes it easy to text them.
Will I be alerted if I forget to check in?
The app shows a clear "Waiting for Today's Check-In" reminder on the home screen. Your caregivers are the ones who receive a formal alert if a check-in stays missing.
